The ITF Junior Masters is a year-end singles tournament for the top-ranked 18-and-under tennis players on the ITF Junior Circuit. It is the second most prestigious annual junior event in terms of rankings points awarded, after the four junior grand slams. Each year, eight boys and eight girls participate in separate events. Max Schoenhaus won the all-German boys’ 14 & Under final at the Tennis Europe Junior Masters in Monte-Carlo. The 14-year-old defeated his Summer Cup teammate Justin Engel 7-5, 7-5 on Sunday. Schoenhaus made the most of his trip to Monaco.
The Bernard Master Junior Satellite Circuit was founded in the early 2000s by Olympic Indoor’s own Jim Criswell and sponsored by Dr. Bernard Master. They believed it was important to grow the game of tennis among junior players. Today, the tournament has grown to involve most of the central Ohio indoor clubs in a series of Friday and Saturday night tournaments for boys and girls in the 10 & under and 18 & under age divisions.
